Issa Rae began her career with the popular web series ‘The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl’ (2011–2013). She carved a niche for herself in Hollywood with her distinctive voice and style.
After becoming one of the most notable voices on television during the 2010s, Issa Rae appeared in several films. These include the role of activist April Ofrah in ‘The Hate U Give’ (2018); a character who transforms from a tough boss into a teenager in ‘Little’ (2019); and romantic roles in ‘The Photograph’ (2020) and the action-rom-com ‘The Lovebirds’ (2020).
