Born on November 6, 1970, in Austin, Texas, Ethan Green Hawke is an American actor, director, and writer. With over four decades of acting experience, Hawke has worked in the fields of theatre, film, and television. Hawke has pursued both higher education and early acting career in several institutions, which include West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, the Hun School of Princeton, McCarter Theatre Centre at the Princeton, Carnegie Mellon University, and New York University.
Hawke starred in his first film ‘Explorers’ in 1985, and in his most successful movie, Dead Poets Society. In addition, the movies that made him famous in the nineties are Reality Bites (1994), Before Sunrise (1995) and Gattaca (1997). He was recognized by critics and nominations in Training Day (2001), the “Before” trilogy (Before Sunset, Before Midnight) and recently in Boyhood (2014) and The Black Phone (2021). On stage, Hawke made his debut as an actor aged 13 in Saint Joan, his Broadway debut in The Seagull (1992) and his Tony nomination in The Coast of Utopia (2007). Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke (born January 15, 2002, in New York City) is an American actor and musician. He is mainly recognized as the son of actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman and the brother of actress and musician Maya Hawke.
Levon went to Saint Ann’s School, a private K-12 institution in Brooklyn, New York. He then pursued studies at Brown University, from where he got his BA in Philosophy. His first venture into the industry was with the short film ‘Blackout’ (2018), but his bigger screen debut came with Apple TV+’s series ‘The Crowded Room’ (2023) and the thriller film ‘Blink Twice’ (2024). Other projects include ‘Wildcat’ (2024) and the future film ‘Marty Supreme’ (2025).
While pursuing his acting career, Levon has worked alongside his sister on music videos as a musician and vocalist. Outside his professional activities, Levon is an enthusiastic guitarist who likes collaborating with his sister. Maya Ray Thurman Hawke (born on July 8, 1998, in New York City) is an American actor and singer-songwriter. She is known mostly because of her appearance in the series ‘Stranger Things’ as Robin Buckley and her music career in the indie-folk style.
As Hawke had to attend different schools throughout her childhood due to her dyslexia, she attended Saint Ann’s School, a private institution located in Brooklyn that specializes in the arts. Also, she took acting classes at the Juilliard School for one year. Furthermore, she visited summer programs at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and studied in the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
